This morning, iconic soul singer Etta James passed away at the age of 73. A member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Blues Hall of Fame, and the Grammy Hall of Fame, she had one of the most powerful voices in American music. Using her remarkable, emotionally expressive range, James could effortlessly convey everything from deep sorrow to playful flirtation. She was the recipient of four Grammy Awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2003. In case you can't tell, she was also one of my favorite singers of all time. Words don't do her justice, so listen instead – here are some of Etta's best songs.

If you’re watching this video and waiting for this guy to do something besides get wet with his clothes on, stop. That’s all he does…throughout the entire video. There are two things I don’t understand about this video. 1. I don’t understand why he’s doing this and 2. I don’t understand why I’ve already watched it three times in a row. If I could ask this man one question it would be, “why?” Just “why?” My guess is his washing machine is broken, but I could be wrong.

Dancing. Love. Lust. Drama. Center Stage had it all. The movie, which came out in 2000, had millions of middle school girls wanting to pick up a pair of pointe shoes and become ballerinas. While you may have gone on to pursue other (ahem, more realistic) ambitions, have you ever stopped to wonder if our favorite dancers are still out in the Hollywood cosmos dancing their butts off? But really, what ever happened to the cast of Center Stage?

College moves fast. One second you’re a freshman wandering around the campus with a lanyard and the next second you’re crossing the stage and collecting a diploma. You vaguely remember meeting your best friend when she held your hair back after your first frat party and you kinda remember that all-nighter you pulled to get 3 term papers done in one night. But the rest is a blur of theme parties, walks of shame, and begging your older sister for her fake ID.
Before you know it, you’re out in the real world, working a real job alongside real people, wondering what happened to no-class Friday and $3 pitchers. And trust me, it ain’t fun.
It gets pretty easy to get caught up in it all and forget to be young and crazy. That’s why, with only a little way’s to go until I hit the big 2-5, I’ve put together the ultimate list of everything we, as fun-loving and fearless women, need to accomplish before we turn 25.
