Grey’s Anatomy Nominated for GLAAD’s Outstanding Drama Award

Calzona has long been one of our favorite on-screen romances. And now, Grey’s Anatomy is being honored with a GLAAD nomination for Outstanding Drama Series, presumably thanks to Grey’s fantastic handling of a successful on-screen lesbian marriage.

We’ll never forget the wedding between Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), with both brides wearing gorgeous white dresses. The whole episode seemed incredibly progressive and current.

As is the couple’s relationship with Mark (Eric Dane), Sofia’s baby daddy. Instead of an awkward rendition of Three’s Company, the show got a few threesome jokes out of the way early, and now the focus is on making things work. Which they (almost) do.

We’ll be cheering for you, Grey’s!

Grey's Anatomy Season 8, Episode 12 Sneak Peek Roundup:

Spoiler-phobes, this post is for you: We won't reveal anything not shown in official promos.

First, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) have to decide whether or not to take on a young boy with a seemingly inoperable brain tumor. The boy's mother makes an impassioned plea, and it looks like Derek will be won over. As if there was any doubt!

Grey's Anatomy Spin-Offs We'd Love to See

Riggers
Over the years, we've gotten to know a few ambulance drivers, and they seem like a zany bunch. There's the sassy one who gave Cristina (Sandra Oh) a piece of her mind, the nice one who was killed in the ambulance crash, and the no-nonsense one who tried to save Alex's (Justin Chambers) and Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) lives this season. We imagine this spin-off would feature fast-paced action with even more life-or-death stakes. At the very least, the changing scenery would be interesting.

The Dermatology Dept.
So what if they only apply lotion for their living? Cristina was amazed when she spent time in the dermatology department. To her astonishment, the doctors there got massages, baked layer cakes, drank water infused with fruit, and complained about getting too much sleep. This kind of serene environment calls for some opera even soapier than that of Grey's.

The Vagina Squad
That's right — we have to honor one of Cristina's best witticisms! And with that, we're out, folks.

Major Grey’s Anatomy Spoiler: Teddy & Owen’s ''Intense'' Relationship Heats Up

When Shonda Rhimes revealed that the relationship between Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) would soon be “blown up to holy hell,” we assumed the drama was restricted to the abortion story line. But, according to a new interview with Kim Raver (Teddy), Owen is going to have a whole ‘nother set of tense moments and volcanic eruptions with Teddy, too.

As Kim Raver explains to TV Line, Teddy will be handling her grief in an abnormal way. “She sort of becomes a workaholic. She’s in so much pain and not actually going through that grieving process, because she’s kind of in denial.”

But how will Teddy’s grief affect her complicated friendship with Owen? “There’s an interesting thing that’s happening between Teddy and Owen,” she says. “There’s some intense stuff that’s coming up with that, and that makes for interesting drama. A lot of surprising things for their friendship will definitely be coming out of Teddy’s grief. I don’t want to give away too much, but...Teddy feels extremely betrayed, in a way.”

It sounds like Teddy has moved on from Cristina in her blame game, and will be directing her anger towards former unrequited crush Owen. Will Teddy’s already-tense relationship with protege Cristina turn into a brutal love triangle? We’ll just have to wait and see!

Grey's Anatomy Review: Rate Season 8, Episode 12: ''Hope for the Hopeless''

Thursday night’s episode of Grey's Anatomy, Season 8, Episode 12: "Hope for the Hopeless," was full of everything that we love about Grey’s: tons of medical scenes, weird/interesting cases, and just the right mix of behind-the-stethoscope drama.

Almost everyone had something big and medical-y on their plate this episode. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) was preparing for his 10,000th surgery, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) failed to perform a surgery on a young boy, and Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) and Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) tried to steal a patient because Teddy turned into a surgery-crazed workaholic under the extreme stress of losing her husband.

In non-medical drama news: April Kepner (Sarah Drew) began the search for a new place to live, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) planned baby Zola’s b-day party and debated what speciality to pick, Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) became even more silver-foxy, and Adele (Loretta Devine) returns to the hospital and thinks that Richard is leaving her.

The theme of this episode was all about people lying to those that they love to protect them (and/or themselves). There were a few tear-jerking moments, particularly the scene where Derek’s young patient has to pretend that he doesn’t know that he is going to die so as not to upset his distraught mom. And, we have to admit, it was...well, refreshing isn’t the right word but interesting to see Cristina and Owen drama bubble back up to the surface. Now that the MerDerZol storyline is wrapped up we can finally see the fallout from The Thing That Cristina Did.

We give this episode a rating of 4 stars. How would you rete this episode? Use the rating below.

Grey's Anatomy Season 8, Episode 12 Recap: Richard Hits a Milestone, Owen & Cristina Fight

The liver transplant, lame though it might be, is Richard's 10,000th surgery (since he's a dinosaur); and the surgical staff is throwing him a party. But they never expected Adele to crash it — a neighbor found her walking the seven miles to the hospital and offered her a ride. Adele is incoherent, and she is demanding to see Richard. April (Sarah Drew) takes her to the gallery to watch Richard at work, but Adele freaks, thinking that Meredith is Ellis. Mer, an old hat at Alzheimer's protocol, tells Richard to remind her of a happier time, so he starts singing "My Funny Valentine." Adele joins in — and sings beautifully — and she starts calming down. Richard, maintaining the facade, tells her how excited he is to be marrying her on Valentine's Day. And Adele is so earnestly happy that everyone's hearts breaks. Richard, having lost the festive mood, ends up cancelling his own party.

But Meredith and Derek don't nix Zola's birthday party, and all the surgeons come. Banking on the fact that Zola won't remember the party anyway, Mer and Der change the message on the cake and present it to Richard in honor of his milestone. The gaiety is overshadowed, though, by an argument in the kitchen that becomes a blowout that everyone can hear: Owen is furious with Cristina for going behind his back and for always getting her way. But in the heat of the moment, he reveals that his anger all hearkens back to Cristina's abortion, for which he apparently has never forgiven her. He even says that Cristina killed their baby! Dude! Word choice!

In other news, Julia said "I love you" to Mark (Eric Dane) and he hasn't said it back... and Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) tease him relentlessly about it. Meanwhile, Meredith is having trouble deciding upon a specialty. Oh, and Alex (Justin Chambers), April, and Jackson (Jesse Williams) want to find their own digs. But none of that matters! Owen resents Cristina for the abortion! OMG! How soon till the next (non-hypothetical) episode?

As Adele sounds do the time warp.

Secrets of the butt - as, where is Meredith's? (Zing!)

Grey's Anatomy face-off: regular Meredith vs. Merry alternate reality Meredith

Perhaps the biggest change of all woman are dark and twisty. The episode examines what Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) been life would be like not having her mother, Ellis, Alzheimer's, and her family remained relatively intact.

It turns out that Mer would have a stable home growing up, would they be quite bright and sunny. Oh, and they would be wearing her hair differently! Our protagonist twisted, tortured only the ways and means as much as we love them usually is, they need to admit how we alternative Meredith is bangless ' do and easy smile.

What do you think?

On the test bench: Owen and Cristina fight Grey's Anatomy season 8, Episode 12

All what we could say, when Grey's Anatomy season 8, Episode 12: "hope for the hopeless" "Wow" came to an end, and it is because of this intense, emotional struggle between Cristina (Sandra OH) and Owen (Kevin McKidd).

Owen and Cristina epic blow-out: 5 OMG moments from grey's Anatomy season 8, Episode 12

Whoa! This episode of Grey's Anatomy (season 8, Episode 12: "Hope for the hopeless") began as a usual episode and then took a turn for the better. Because better for us, that is to say, no better for the characters - the drama intense, and it has well. Here are the highlights of shocking.

5. Julia three little words
Okay, this is the third episode in which we have seen, Julia, and we want to buy the fact the she in love with mark (Eric Dane) is? C ' Mon. We think should be characters on the screen for at least 45 cumulative minutes before declaring their love for one of the main characters. Hell, have not we even in love with her, so that we can fully sympathize if mark is not available, reciprocate her feelings.

4. Adele hell
We can have kept the hope, that we Adele (Loretta Devine) again saw, she Adele nor the we would know and love. But instead it is clear that Alzheimer's already has a heavy toll on their memory, and we, that it is only fear to even worse from here. And great, now we think about the notebook again.

3. Mother not so white lies
Parenting tip # 47: when your child over 10 years, may be a good idea to know him, if he has only weeks to life. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Lexie (Chyler Leigh) could be their shock hardly hide, when Wes the mother told them that she clean Wes about its condition and opportunities had not.

2. Wes know
Children can say the Darnedest things, but they can be also damn attentive. Despite his mother lying through omission and sugarcoating learned Wes still his spinal tumor. Even more than their lies shocking was the fact that he knew that was not called her. Such maturity!

1. Owen and Cristina epic blow-out
Why is it that the SGMWH can never have a stress free party surgeons? Someone must be getting the drama. This time around it was Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Cristina (Sandra OH), whose TIFF on this day of the operation in a screaming match the entire House exploded could hear. And was even more shocking the resentment, the fight to dredged out: Owen had never come, with Cristina abortion.

You remember the episode on Thursday, February 2, 9 tune in pm ET / PT on ABC.

Grey's Anatomy face-off: regular Addison vs. alternate reality Addison

Greys anatomy Narada episode, season 8, Episode 13: "If/then," promises, on an emotional journey behind the mirror, Seattle Grace-mercy West us take that could have been. It should show us what makes each character itself, and what she is missing would be if life was different.

That's all well and good, but now let speak us about important changes: the fashion! We're kidding (kinda), but we have been having a lot of fun to look at pictures alternative reality sneak peek and analyzing everyone's different hairstyles, makeup and clothing choices. If window to the soul style is, led these documents definitely different paths.

Narada Addison (Kate Walsh) has become to the sexy. Her hair is dark, her eyes make-up is more difficult and her lips are bright, bright red. It is certainly good, but might be a little hard.

What think you of Addison's alternate reality look like?

Clip: Adele and Richard singing "My Funny Valentine cm on Grey's Anatomy season 8, Episode 12

In one which Adele history at the same time, the most beautiful and heartbreaking scenes on Grey's Anatomy (Loretta Devine) breaks down completely, if they Meredith (Ellen Pompeo confused) with her mother and then it calms Richard (James Pickens Jr.) by their singing special song, "My Funny Valentine".

And then we start sobbing.
