Taylor Swift glitters on stage inside the 2012 Ripple Of Hope Gala held at The New York Marriott Marquis on Monday night (December 3) in New York City.
The 22-year-old musician was honored with an award by the Kennedy family for her philanthropic efforts.
“She’s getting it because my father believed in the power of the youth,” Kerry Kennedy shared of Taylor‘s honor.
She added, “He described it in his Ripple of Hope speech, which this award is named after. He said, ‘This world demands the qualities of youth: not a time of life but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the life of ease.’ Here’s a young woman — 22 years old — who has put herself out in the world, and in an incredibly powerful and strong way.”
FYI: Taylor is wearing an Oscar de la Renta dress and coat with Lorraine Schwartz earrings, Ofira rings and bracelet, a Lauren Merkin bag and Jimmy Choo shoes.
