The flip itself goes flawlessly, and the docs separate Tweedledee from Tweedledum, but then Brandi's one kidney fails, so the docs have to get a kidney for her from Andi. Right before the transplant, Richard apologizes to Alex, confessing that his age (“You realize you have more yesterdays than tomorrows.”) is making him feel obsolete. Alex takes pity and gives Richard his role in the transplant; Richard gloats, calling Alex a sucker. Hah! We love that crafter codger.
After the surgery ends and the twins are fine, Callie (Sara Ramirez) gives Arizona a taste of her own medicine by micromanaging how Arizona cares for Sofia, and Arizona admits she was a monster in the OR.
Oh, and hey, by the way, Bailey (Chanda Wilson) is back with Ben! Surprise! But the heat is on as he pressures her to move in. (Whoa, dude! Chillax a bit, huh?) She practically coerces Meredith(Ellen Pompeo) to scrub in on her surgery with Ben to act as a buffer, but Meredith is hardly any help at all.
Right when Bailey goes on a rant about how she is such a good surgeon because she keeps her personal life out of the OR, the surgical staff realizes that they're missing a sponge. Meredith suggests it's in the patient's chest cavity, sending Bailey into a fit, but then Mer tells Bailey that the sponge is stuck to Bailey's shoe. Did Mer know all along? Was this all a ploy? Those Greys can be sly like foxes!
